No heat Until November 16th.
November 2, 2009
Well I’ve finally hit a few brick walls. I’ve been lucky up until this point not having hit any regulations but this one is a bit harsh. The heat in our building is controlled and will not be turned on until November 16th. Can I just say how relieved I am that I will be leaving for 5 days.
So one of my favorite movies is The Saint with Val Kilmer, it takes place it Moscow with no heat! I always thought the concept of a city being completely without heat was ludicrous but obviously not. Weifang will be without heat until the officials turn it on. So for now it is just bundling and lots of cooking in the kitchen to get some heat circulating in the house.

My bedroom heater.
I hear this baby will take the chill off in the winter but not much else. Now I just have to figure out their definition of ‘the chill’, why do I have a feeling our definitions aren’t going to match up?

Why does everything have to be in Chinese?!?
So I also have this bad boy in my room all though I can’t figure out how to work it. James set it up for AC when I first got here but now I can’t get it to switch over. Adam informed me it just goes to 30*C which just isn’t going to cut it! I started hitting buttons the other day on the remote which was a BAD idea now it is on some weird function and I can’t get it back. I’m going to have to bother James again to get it right.
Katie has seen some space heaters around town so I just might be making an investment this coming month. So far I can manage the house but then again I haven’t left the apartment yet today.
seriously – the silk comforters are a must…they’re like feather comforters…but sooooo warm and soooo light and not suffocating. and they come from china – a specialty of sorts. go and invest. and by the way – do you want me to ship you some jeans? i can have them to you in a week…let me know. becky
Kayte with out heat. That is a catastrophe.
